    Twitter API Update v1.1

    Hi

    Twitter API has now Retired v1. https://dev.twitter.com/blog/api-v1-is-retired

    Seems the widget is not functioning due to this update. Its probably the same across all your themes that use a feed.

    Let me know what i need to do to update this.
    Many thanks

    Hello,

    since API v1.1 requires authentication (oAuth) even to just fetch tweets, a javascript only solution is no longer possible. You'll need to use a 3rd party plugin like

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/twitget/

    Great i got it working using twitget.
    Although i can't find what the html format was like for the tweets. Can you post up the old code?

    This is the default for twitget

    <img class="alignleft" src="{$profile_image}">
    <a href="https://www.twitter.com/{$user_twitter_name}">@{$user_twitter_name}</a>
    <br />
    {$user_description}
    <ul class="pages">
    {$tweets_start}
    <li>{$tweet_text}<br />{$tweet_time}</li>
    {$tweets_end}
    </ul>

    Here's the complete markup for the embedded twitter widget

    PHP Code:
    <div class="widget widget_twitter">
        <
    h3>Twitter Widget <class="followBtn" href="https://twitter.com/#!/username"><span class="label">follow</span></a></h3>

        <
    div class="twitter">
            <
    class="tweet">

    Text

    <span>1h ago</span>
            </
    p>
        </
    div>
    </
    div

    Hi Fabio

    Twitget is no help for those of using PixelEntity themes outside Wordpress. However, this may be helpful - it's a link to a 3rd-party JavaScript only solution:

    http://jasonmayes.com/projects/twitterApi

    I have this working on an Influx-themed site - at least on the Home page. Subsequent pages seem to strip out the script that does the InnerHTML - any ideas on that?

    Best regards

    Hi Ante

    Yes, here you go:

    http://www.earlearchitects.com

    Click on "News" on the Home page to see the Twitter feed working using the solution I mention.

    Go in to any of the other pages on the site and click "News" - don't work!

    Best regards

    hey, heard back from dev, he suggested to follow template documentation, you will have to create influx plugin to get custom js to work, it's all explained in docs.

    Hi Ante

    Where are you seeing that code on the Home page?

    As you know, in Influx the header of the Home page is pushed into the other pages and it seems that when that happens the bit of JS that runs the Twitter scrape gets lost somehow.
